Love Day

Valentine's Day is one of my favorite holidays. Not because I can get some shiny gift from my husband or enjoy some tasty chocolate candies. Nope, it's one of my favorite holidays because I get to do something special for my kids. For the past 8 or so years, I've done this tradition for them and they enjoy it each year.

The day of Valentine's, I transform our back patio or our dining room area into a special place. I create the fun menus that allow them to feel like they are in an actual restaurant. I try to have things on the menu that are easy to cook. In addition to the meal, they always get a gift and a card from me expressing how much I love them. Matter of fact, I found a coupon from CVS and already purchased their cards for this year. It's the little things like this that my kids will always remember. Try it this year with yours, I promise you won't regret it.

Oh and for my husband, I typically will make a separate meal for just the two of us to share once the kids are in bed. We've never been big celebrators of Valentine's Day so staying home and enjoying a nice meal and each other is something we've done for years past and loved every minute.
