“Did I do that?”

We all know January is the time to set new goals and try like crazy to stick to them. I’m not very good with resolutions, but I do believe in goal setting. My weight loss journey didn’t start Jan 1st. I started in November 2020 and by June 2021, I was down 50lbs! I couldn’t believe it. Did I actually lose 50lbs? I felt great and loved the way I looked in my clothes. I decided to try combination of things that ultimately led to my success. Even if you don’t do everything I did, picking just one or two things and sticking to them will make a HUGE difference.
Walk. Now I don’t like to sweat nor do I like to be out of breath. But, I do like to stroll. And that’s exactly what I did. I started with 2miles a day and worked up to 5 miles. I would walk about 5-7 times a week. It was something I could be consistent with and didn’t feel much like exercise. I also walked with friends. That made it fun.
Intermitted Fasting. Now this may not be for you, but for me, it’s a tried and true way for weight loss. I was determined to be successful so I started with a 20/4 plan. I would only eat between 2pm-6pm. It seems extreme, but I was never hungry and ate between 1700-2200 calories during that window.
3. Low Carb. I decreased my intake of rice, potatoes, and breads. I replaced it with more
vegetables and because I love sandwiches, I purchased low carb bread.
4. Vegan. I did plant based 90% of the time. I used Pinterest to help me find some good options for food.
I made sure I didn't limit myself when eating out. On those days I ate out, that would be my only meal of the day and I would basically eat whatever I wanted. I didn't want to be counting my calories or eating salad while everyone else enjoyed delicious cuisine.
So, that's that. That is what I did to lose weight. I'm doing a reset because the holidays was too delicious. I started yesterday. I'll keep you posted.
